The seed cluster

Seed production is identified as a national and regional cluster of competence in the counties of Vestsjælland and Storstrøm, and constitutes a significant part of the national seed production’s cluster of competence mapped out in a report by The National Agency for Enterprise and Construction.

 

Since September 2001, six focus groups have worked with developing proposals for initiatives and projects within the following areas of enterprise:

• education and competence
• interest from companies
• knowledge and innovation
• corporation between culture and trade
• moving-out and clusters of competence

The seed cluster Frøvækst Øst takes it rise in the work by the focus group ”strengthen strong clusters and create new clusters”, lead by Nils Wilhjelm, chairman, CEO and former Danish trade minister. The focus group has investigated ten potential clusters and identified a total of four regional clusters of competence within the counties of Vestsjælland and Storstrøm – among others the Seed Cluster Frøvækst Øst.
